AI receptionist for small business

Every call answered, on the number you already have.

An AI receptionist that answers around the clock from your own information, books into your real calendar or job system, texts back anyone it missed, and hands urgent calls to a person. Kodura sets it up, connects it to your tools, and checks every month that it is still doing the job.

The problem

Voicemail loses the call

Calls come in while you are on a job, with a client or asleep. Plenty of callers who reach voicemail don't leave a message; they ring the next business on the list. An AI phone answering service picks up every one of those calls, and the ones it can't finish reach you with the details already taken.

What it does

What the receptionist does

Call flow

How a call flows

The same call, four ways it can go. The blue node is the part Kodura sets up and looks after.

caller your number kept as is receptionist your information question answered calendar or job system booked, text sent your phone urgent: handed over caller's mobile hung up: texted back summary to you reviewed monthly

The difference

What an app does, and what Kodura adds

An AI answering service for business is only as good as what it is connected to. An app on its own answers the phone and leaves the rest to you.

An AI receptionist app

Off the shelf

  • Answers the phone and takes messages.
  • Answers questions you type into it.
  • Leaves you to forward your number or move it from your phone system.
  • Leaves you to connect it to your calendar, CRM or job system.
  • Leaves you to decide what is urgent and who gets woken up.
  • Leaves you to register for business texting, which US carriers require before text-backs are delivered.
  • Leaves you to notice when it stops working.

Kodura

Set up, connected and managed

  • Set up on your existing number and phone system.
  • Connected to your calendar, CRM or job system, so bookings are real.
  • Rules for urgent and after-hours calls, with a person to hand over to.
  • Business texting registered, so text-backs arrive.
  • A monthly review of the calls and a short report.

If an app on its own covers what you need, we will say so.

Questions

Questions people ask

How much does an AI receptionist cost?

Kodura's AI receptionist is $1,500 to set up and $995 a month, with 1,000 call minutes included and $0.35 a minute after that. Paid yearly, it's $9,950, two months free. That covers a typical setup; several locations, extra integrations or complex call routing can cost more, and any extra is agreed before work starts. Does it sound like a robot?

No. It uses a natural voice and speaks in full sentences rather than a menu of options. It says it is an automated assistant if a caller asks, and it can say so at the start.

What happens when it doesn't know the answer?

It says so, takes the caller's details and question, and passes them to you straight away, or transfers the call if your rules say that kind of call should reach a person.

Can I keep my number?

Yes. It works on the number you already have, either by forwarding calls from your current phone system or by moving the number, whichever keeps the rest of your phones working.

Is it legal to record calls?

It depends on the state. Some states require everyone on a call to agree to recording, so the receptionist says at the start that the call may be recorded. It can also run without keeping recordings, with a written summary only.
